Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy's seventh studio album "Eternal Warrior" debuted at #1 on Apple Music in 24 countries within 48 hours of its midnight release — a historic first for any African artist.
The 18-track project features Rihanna, Drake, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Chris Martin and Ayra Starr. The lead single "Lagos at Night" crossed 10 million streams in 24 hours, a new Spotify record for an African artist.
"Eternal Warrior is my love letter to Lagos, to Nigeria, to Africa. Every track is testimony that we are the standard," Burna Boy stated on Instagram.
IFPI estimates the album will generate over $50 million in global revenue in its first year — Africa's first single-album milestone. President Tinubu congratulated Burna Boy, saying the achievement "represents the limitless potential of Nigeria's creative economy."
